Our Equimotional Young Equestrians Academy is a six-week programme for young people with an interest in horses and personal wellbeing.

As qualified Equimotional Wellbeing Coaches, we will support participants to grow in equine knowledge, but also confidence and self-awareness, invaluable in all areas of life.

The topics of the six sessions are:
- Evolution and Care - exploring history, adaptation and empathy through the evolution of horses.
- Care and and Husbandry - building routines of self-care by learning about horse grooming and care.
- Health and Biology - understanding anatomy, health and respect for our unique physical strengths.
- Behaviour and Communication - exploring how horses communicate through body language and learning empathy by understanding social cues.
- Breeding and Genetics - understanding genetics and diversity, and celebrating individuality and unique traits.
- Famous Horses and their Stories - inspiring resilience, empathy and personal growth through the stories of famous horses and their own lives.

Equimotional Learning is based on trauma-informed principles that recognise each individual's unique background. Trauma-informed practices foster a safe, nurtering environment, encouraging young people to engage and learn with confidence.

There will be a blend of theory and practical elements of the course. The practical sessions with horses are non-ridden. We are not a riding school and we are not teaching people how to be riders. Our focus is on supporting individuals on their own personal journey of growth, using horses as the stimulus and metaphors. There will be opportunities to get hands-on with members of our herd though.

The cost of the course will be £200 per person, and group sizes will be limited to four people to enable quality time to be spent with and between all attendees. While this figure does not reflect the true cost of delivering the course, it is at a level that stays true to our ethos of seeking to offer accessible and affordable equine experiences but allows us to cover our core costs.
